The Greek General Confederation of Labour (GSEE) supports fully the ITUC and ETUC global campaign "Decent Work - Decent Life" and commits to work in solidarity with other international unions in order to achieve decent work rights for all.

In this context and in the framework of celebrating this year the GSEE’s 90th founding anniversary we have joined the global mobilization and GSEE has launched a wide range of activities:

The GSEE Youth Secretariat jointly with the International Relations Secretariat hosted in September 2008 in Chalikidiki an International Youth Camp focusing on Decent Work for Youth.

The Confederation GSEE held a press conference on making Decent Work national reality and on the need to build awareness of Decent Work and connected its militant mobilizations during the Thessaloniki International Fair in September 2008 with the theme of the World Day for Decent Work.

In the context of this International Day of Action for Decent Work, a GSEE delegation will be in Paris to participate in the events organised by the French trade unions.

In addition, during the strike action organised by the Greek trade unions in the broader public sector on 8th October 2008, Greek workers are called to add their support to the campaign on Decent Work.

Futhermore a specific lecture and seminar program on Decent work has been carried out by the GSEE Labour Academy KANEP last week for the students of the Academy.

Circulars were sent out to affiliates and a press bulletin will be sent out today to the Press.
