Trade unions all over the world prepare for carrying out the World Day of Decent Work (WDDW) on October, 7. Russian trade unions, FNPR and its affiliates won’t keep out of this activity.

As part of preparing for the activity there was planned a seminar for trade union officers, responsible for the youth direction of work. This seminar is planned to be carried out on the 18-21st of September, 2008 in Sverdlovsk Region, trade unions of which are of great influence in Russia. For the propose of development of the international trade union co-operation, there will be invited the youth representatives of national organizations from neighbor states. Participation of representatives of authorities and business structures is expected.

The main subject to be discussed during the seminar will be «the participation in preparing of the World Day of Decent Work». But the preparations for the action among the youth are now well under way; members of youth councils throughout the country offer ambitions and impressive forms of carrying out the actions on the 7th, October.

Besides this, there will be discussed the following subjects in groups:

• fundraising, focused on trade union structures (possible sources of attraction of financial resources in the territory of Russian Federation, process of submission of grant applications, solution of problems, arising in process of attraction of external resources);

• organization of collective actions (legal and organizational preparation of collective actions, work after the active phase of collective actions: to exercise control over execution of the laid down and feedback with participants of collective actions);

• identification of community leaders among youth (practice of organization and carrying-out of «Schools of young trade union leaders», technique of training of moderators).

The program of seminar provides for organization of panel discussion on sharing experiences in the field of realization of youth policy.
